As much as we love reviewing video games on our blog, sometimes it’s important to look at the serious topics relating to video gaming, and this question is one that gets asked a lot. It does depends what you mean by ‘harmful’. In many cases, video games are educational, but they’re also fantastic when it comes to relaxing and diverting your mind, and sometimes this is healthy for children. After all it’s not just adults that need to take a break. That said, the amount of time in which children are allowed to play video games today is rather worrying. There are some children who are spending all day at school thinking about the games console, and they’ll switch it on as soon as they arrive home from school. This, I’m afraid is not healthy, and as soon as there are signs of addictive behaviour, children should not be allowed to play video games until they can control it. When children eat sweets too often it’s bad for their health and playing video games is much the same, they should be played in moderation.

Tekken 7: Everything you need to know
GamesWe all know Tekken, it’s the famous video game franchise that’s being going strong for decades, and you’ll be pleased to know that it’s not going away any time soon. We’re focusing this blog post on Tekken 7 as it’s the ninth upgrade but the first to use unreal engine 4.
The game is focuses on 1-on-1 battles and allows the player to execute artistic attacks that cause 30% more damage than the usual attacks in the game. Power Crush is a smart feature, which enables the player to attack even while under attack! With an attractive interface, intelligently designed levels and a mystical game world, you have to give this a try.
The most attractive part of the interface is the ability to keep things clean. Namco did a great job of adding to the typically minimal design whilst the mysticism of the scenery provides an entertaining backdrop while you’re wreaking havoc on your opponents with the use of the Power Crus play! Overall when you take into consideration what has previously been released by the Tekken franchise, Tekken 7 does a great job turning things around and definitely brings something new to the table.
Batman: Arkham Series.
GamesBatman: Arkham City is a brilliant action game that captures the role of Batman. Even if you are not a fan of Batman, this is a must have game. Batman Arkham Asylum was released in 2009 for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The game became popular quickly because of the new darker vision it had for the Batman universe, and gamers and non-gamers alike loved seeing Batman shown in this light. Arkham Asylum was created with the Batman comics in mind, and all art direction and final character creation sticks closely to what the Batman comics have been portraying for many years.
The entire prison is opened up for Batman to explore through as the Joker puts his most deviant plan into place, releasing every inmate in the prison. As the game progresses, players explore more of Arkham Island, discovering secrets left behind by the original founders and secret areas. The prison is brought to life in all its glory by the developers, meaning players can swoop down from high rooftops and hide on gargoyles within certain parts of the building to scare enemies before finishing them.
The combat in the game is incredibly satisfying. Players can beat up criminals with relatively easy controls, with all combat being mapped to one button. As they advance and take down more enemies they gain experience points to spend on upgrades for Batman such as armour and new gadgets. The impressive range of gadgets available are all taken directly from the comic books, meaning fans of Batman won’t have to put up with a Batman from the future.
The story of Batman Arkham Asylum is fairly simple, Joker plans for Batman to take him to the prison and releases all the inmates. He then plans to use Venom, the substance which gives Bane his strength, to transform all criminals on the island into hulking monsters. Players go through a long and arduous journey to finally defeat the Joker and stop his plans, and any fan of the dark knight will find a lot they can appreciate in the game.
What we made of Mass Effect Andromeda
GamesMass effect Andromeda is the very first ‘next generation’ game created by the well-known studio Bioware. Most of the loyal fans expect this to be a big game, and from what we know, it’s sure to keep new and experienced players on their foot; every second.
Mass effect Andromeda has stunning visuals and presents an all new galaxy to its players. This is the next generation taking their plunge towards space exploration. The project remained under wraps for so long, and this kept many wondering how the game was shaping up. The game will be hitting the gaming consoles on the 21st of March, and will include an epic story and an amazing cast which includes none other than Natalie Dormer and Kumail Nanjiani. This is a part of series that has been loved by gamers for various opportunities it provides to them.
The game of Andromeda is about complex plots and exploration. The player is the pathfinder, who has to find a new place for humanity. The journey is vast, and players get to take along a ship that is not equipped with weapons and a Nomad, that is used to explore other planets.
Nintendo Switch: Everything you need to know

When is the release date?
The system will launch on March 3rd, 2017 in the US, Japan, some European countries and other selected regions. The suggested retail price is £279.99. Preorders are open on several retailers; so better check it out before it is too late!
What is included with the system?
You get the Switch console, two Joy-con controls (one left and one right), a dock, a Joy-con grip and the usual HDMI cable and USB AC adapter. Unlike other systems like the WiiU, there are no plans for a game bundle.
How good is the battery life?
A full charge will last you between 2 and 6 hours of gameplay but it depends on the specific game you are playing. For example, the battery will last around 3 hours while playing the upcoming “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild”.
How much will games cost?
Most of the games are around the £50 mark.
What are the game modes?
The Switch can be played in Handheld mode, Tabletop mode, and TV mode.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Trailer
GamesNearly 10 million people have watched the Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer and it’s safe to say that the build up to the release is going to be huge. Some say there’s going to be more of a build up than ever before with the game expected to make record sales in late 2017. This wouldn’t surprise us because Red Dead Redemption really was a legendary game. Many refer to it as GTA with horses instead of cars but it’s not, it’s a completely different world and one that’s going to be 10 times better this time. The visuals in the trailer look spectacular and I’m pleased Rockstar have taken their time with this one. We can only hope the game is perfected even more, but either way we’re sure it’s going to be the biggest game of the year. If you’d like to see the trailer check out the video below.
