Monster Hunter: World – What we know so far

Games

Monster Hunter: World is a soon-to-be-released role-playing video game from Capcom. It is the fifth installment in their “Monster Hunter” franchise and will be released in January 2018 for PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.

So far, we know that it allows gamers to go roam the globe, playing together whilst the main game mode features larger maps compared to previous titles. The game will also feature four-player online co-ops. This action role-playing game will be played from a third-person perspective and much like the previous titles, the player has the role of a Hunter who is meant to hunt down and capture large monsters for the reason of studying them. One significant difference this installation compared to the previous ones is that each zone in the game is isolated from the others. This means that the player is able to leave a specific zone anytime and they could do this to, for example, escape a monster!

Stardew Valley is on its way to Nintendo Switch

Games

I’m sure many of you will know already, but Stardew Valley is now on its way to the Nintendo Switch. This is a nice addition to the library of games for the Switch, and it’s very good on the big screen and on the portable Switch too. What’s so great is that this is that it’s very much a retro game, in that it has the feel of a Gameboy game, but with nice bold colours. You’ll fee like you’re playing a game from the 90s, but it has the storyline of a modern game, so it delivers on both aspects. The Stardew developer Eric Barone has said that he is very pleased with the Nintendo console debut for his beloved game, and he says he “grew up on Nintendo.” This is the case for the many who will buy this game, because it has that 90s feel. We wouldn’t expect it go down well with families or younger generations, but it’s a nice game for those who are in the late teens or 20s and want to play a game which brings back childhood memories, et it’s a completely new adventure. A very good game in our eyes.

The Lowdown on Need for Speed Payback

Games

Back in the day Need for Speed was one of the most popular racing games, but that’s not really been the case over the last few years. It’s been lacking the real urban adventure that existed with the older games, but we’re all hoping Need for Speed Payback takes us back to its roots. With this title, you can drive straight into the action and turn heads all across Fortune Valley, where you and your crew are reunited by a search for vengeance against The House, a pesty cartel that rules the city’s casinos, criminals, and cops.

Now this sounds more like it right?

That’s what we’re hoping, and must take on races, missions, and challenges to earn the respect of the Valley’s underground and compete in the ultimate race to finally take down The House. This one is all about building your rep and showing your enemies who’s the boss. Make sure you preorder it because we have a feeling it’s going to be big.

Upcoming Game: Monster Hunter World

Games

There’s soon to be a brand new entry in the Monster Hunter franchise and it will be arriving on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. There is no definite release date as yet, but it looks set to be released in early 2018, so time will certainly fly leading up to its release. With Monster Hunter World, it’s said that there will be just one single character embarking on a mission to hunt down monsters, and this is a huge change because the previous titles usually focused on cooperative gameplay. The only viable source of information right now is the demo, which was released recently, but it does show a large portion of Monster Hunter World gameplay, whilst we’re afforded a taste of what the visuals, sounds and characters will be like. It’s certainly going to be a big release, and the game really does look fantastic, but will the big changes to cooperative gameplay deter some of the loyal fans? Only time will tell.

A New Yoshi Game is on its way

Games

Finally Yoshi is back and it looks as though we’ll get to enjoy this family friendly game in early 2018. Though no date has been confirmed, a gameplay trailer was recently released, and it’s got people talking. The cute sounds, bold colours and cute cardboard houses offer families a hint of Mario life but it’s still very unique. By collecting coins, shooting enemies and making friends, you’re able to move through each level working your way through this incredibly fun world. Don’t let the cute sounds fool you though, this game is set to be very addictive with tough missions as well as a few simple ones. Some of the puzzles will require a little thought and patience, whilst others require you to act fast and make it though the level as quickly as you can. All in all, this is a classic game from the Mario family and it’s one worth getting excited about. We’re sure many families will be playing this over Christmas, working together to get through tricky tasks in this colourful world.
