GTA 5 also known as Grand Theft Auto V was a huge boost for the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. It was released on the ‘old’ consoles just before the release of next gen consoles, and the game will not be out for quite some time on the new consoles.
It may be noted as the game that kept people clinging on to their old consoles rather than buying the PS4 and the XBOX 360, and it’s certainly proved to be the biggest selling game of the last decade. It’s a clever release because when the game does come out on next gen consoles the creators will make money all over again.
GTA is essentially a game that’s competing with newer games on the newest consoles, as it stands, and it’s still making strong sales. It will be important to see whether people buy the game over again when it’s released on new consoles, but it’s unlikely to beat the sale sit has made on the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 4.
